About Our Worship Services
At Boyd Lake Road Church of Christ, we pattern our worship following the Bible’s instructions and example. Our worship services are led by various men and include the following practices: singing, praying, preaching, giving, and partaking of the Lord’s Supper. Through all of these biblically-based activities we seek to glorify God as we worship Him in His presence.

SINGING
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts” (Colossians 3:16).
We worship God through singing songs to Him. We sing acapella (without instruments). We find our worship through song to be meaningful, with everyone invited and encouraged to participate in the singing.

LORD'S SUPPER
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42)
When we meet together on Sundays we spend time sharing in the Lord’s Supper. In this time we remember the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This supper also reminds us of the bond we each have through the love and grace of God, our need for the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, the joy and hope that comes through the resurrection.

PREACHING
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Each Sunday, there is a time of teaching/preaching during the worship assembly. These messages are biblical, practical, and inspiring. Through the preaching of the Word the church is called to grow in the likeness of Jesus.

PRAYERS
“Pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
During our worship services we pray together. There may be prayers for specific needs and requests. Prayer is simply talking to God—and the most important thing we can say about this is that God wants you to talk to Him! He loves us and He has promised to hear us when we pray.

GIVING
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
On Sunday mornings trays are passed to collect the weekly financial offering. As our guest, you are not expected to give. The money given each Sunday is used to support the various ministries of the church.
What We Believe
The Bible is the inspired Word of God
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. We don’t try to interpret or translate the Bible in such a way to please ourselves, but instead try to mold ourselves into what God wants us to be.
There is only one way to enter heaven.
According to the Bible, the one and only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe our sins can be forgiven by the blood of Christ through baptism into his death. Scripture teaches and shows examples of how man can be saved by hearing the Word, belief, repentance, confessing that Jesus is Lord and being buried with Him in baptism.
How we live our lives matters.
We believe our lives and actions toward others are the evidence of our faith. We’re not saved by our good works. We do good works because we are saved by God’s grace offered through the death, burial and resurection of His Son.
